Favourite Things to Buy on Amazon.ca

Hello friends!! The biggest sale weekend of the year is here. And I’m sure most of you are looking to find the best deal on things you have been wanting for a while. Some of you may even be nervous as to where to even start looking for deals first! To shop the most trendy items of the year? To stock up on skin care products? Or to start shopping for gifts for the holiday season? Well, today I will share with you some of the things I have bought and some things I think are pretty good deals on Amazon.ca! I love amazon and I am a Amazon Prime member so I love how you can get some items the very next day! I’m always looking for good finds so today I’ll share some of my favourite things to buy on Amazon.ca

Amazon Kindle PaperWhite: I am a huge reader and the Amazon kindle paper white is honestly my best friend. I get to read two hours a day and finish almost 2 books a month. And the Amazon kindle paper white is seriously the best. I have a long commute and using a kindle instead of a book makes it so much easier since it doesn’t weigh much and I can have access to all my books! So if you have been thinking to buy a kindle, now is a great time since Amazon.ca has 20% off on its kindles (that’s 40 dollars in savings!!)

Bluetooth Headphones: Okay, so the next item that I have seen on sale on Amazon are bluetooth headphones/earbuds! I bought mine a little while ago and I love them!! I listen to podcasts all day long at work and bluetooth headphones make working while listening so easy since there are no wires that get caught in things or get tangled! Another great find and one of my favourite things to buy on Amazon.ca!

Organic Buckwheat Hull Pillow: This is another of my favourite things to buy on Amazon.ca. This item isn’t on sale but Gursheel swears it is a game changer. Gursheel often used to complain about neck and shoulder pains. Once he stayed at a hotel that had Down filled pillows that relieved a lot of this pain. So then we went on the search to find another option (instead of Down since I try to make purchases I can feel better about) and we found this amazing pillow that is made with buckwheat hulls! So no animals were harmed in the making of this pillow. Gursheel hasn’t complained about neck and shoulder pains since we got it!

Dr. Bronners Sal Suds: So I have been on the hunt to find all natural skin care and beauty products as well as cleaning products so I am minimizing on the amount of chemicals we use on a day to day basis. We have almost completely gotten rid of products that are filled with chemicals! Cleaning products, however, have been challenging. But, I recently heard of Sal suds by Dr. Bronners and apparently they are game changing in terms of cleaning. I am planning on sharing recipes for all natural cleaning products so watch out for the recipes!! I also excited about this amazing natural cleaning product!!! This is the cheapest I found online anywhere!                Image result for dr bronner's sal suds

Packing Cubes: I love organizing and to up my organizing game when I travel I thought packing cubes will be an amazing item to have! So, I went ahead and got them on Amazon, because the best deal I could find was on Amazon.ca! I got the watermelon coloured ones and I am so exiting to pack my suitcase for when I go to BC to visit my family in a month!!

I have bought a bunch of other items from Amazon including bunch of organic food products as well as organizing bins! But I find that food and organizing products don’t often go on sale! I hope you found some of these items useful! Comment below if you have any questions about any of these products!!

I hope you enjoyed this post on my favourite things to buy on Amazon.ca. Happy Black Friday/Cyber Monday Shopping Y’all 🙂

My Favourite Scarves for the Fall and Winter – My Scarf Collection

Scarf season is here and I am so excited to pull out all my scarves!! I love scarves and I have accumulated enough to have a scarf collection. Scarves are the perfect accessory for the fall and winter because not only do they keep you warm from the bitter cold, but they also add a lot to your outfit. I also dap a couple of drops of essential oils to my scarves so if there is someone that smells of smoke on the train, I just smell my scarf instead!

Although I haven’t purchased a scarf in a couple of years, the ones I have purchased in the past are of amazing quality that they have remained in my scarf collection.

In my closet, I have two bins for my scarves: one for my thick and chunky scarves, and the other for thinner ones.

I actually used to have a lot more scarves but they were the thin ones that served no function other than being an accessory to my outfit. I gave most of these to my mom who wears them on a regular basis.

The ones that remained have become a part of my scarf collection that I use regularly. The thinner ones I can use all year round, but the thicker ones are super useful in the fall and winter!

I get a lot of people asking me where I get my scarves from and today I will show you some of my all time favourites!

I have a total of 3 scarves from Aritzia and I love them! Although Aritzia scarves are a bit on the pricey side, they are also investment pieces that last you forever. That’s if you don’t accidentally wash them! One of my sister’s scarves was accidentally put in the wash and it shrunk so much that now it serves as a beautiful picnic blanket! The three scarves that I have from Aritzia are super warm and cozy and are also beautiful and add a lot to any of my outfits. All I need is a nice coat and shoes and my outfit is complete!

The other store I love for scarves and I think quite a bit of my scarf collection is from is Zara! Zara has the most unique and beautiful scarves and the prices are amazing as well! The most I paid for a Zara scarf was $25! I have a couple thinner ones as well as some chunky scarves and I have owned them for a long time now. I don’t think you will be able to find the exact ones I have at Zara, but it is a good store to check out if you want to start your own scarf collection! Also, Zara often has sales so I think Black Friday and Boxing Day would be a good day to look for scarves.

Check this link for the Scarf selection Zara has right now. There are some that are on my radar!

If you are looking for scarves for the winter, I highly recommend getting some quality scarves since they will last you a long time! I personally prefer getting longer and chunkier scarves because they will keep you warm as opposed to the thin ones. I also like to pack a couple of scarves when I travel because they serve as the perfect blanket on the plane and you can use them to style your outfits as well. Check out these scarves I took with me on our Ottawa trip!

What are some of your favourite places to shop for scarves? I’m always on the lookout for a nice scarf to add to my scarf collection!

4 DIY Food Styling Boards For Under $20!

I want to start adding more recipes on the blog in the ‘Kamfort Food‘ section and I have a lot of recipes I want to share. The only thing I was struggling with was making the food look beautiful. There are so many bloggers that have the most beautiful pictures that you just want to make whatever they post! But, even though I have so many amazing recipe I want to share with you all, I didn’t know how to make them look appealing. Therefore I was looking for ways to make some DIY food styling boards on a budget. And I have the perfect ones. I was able to make 4 DIY food styling boards for under $20!

I need to give credit where credit is due and these 4 DIY food styling boards all came from this tutorial one of my favourite Toronto bloggers posted! Mymiaou makes the most delicious looking food and her pictures are just fantastic! Her tutorial for the DIY food styling boards was super easy and fun and also very affordable! So, you just need to optimize the boards to fit the style of your blog!

Hardboard from Home Depot – 48 inch by 2 inch (cut in half) ~$5

Wall scraper – $0 (you probably have one at home)

DryDex Spackling Paste ~ $3

Paint brush – $0 (you probably have one at home)

BEHR Marquee Paint – we bought the $4 sample tubs

When you are at Home Depot, ask to get the 48 inch hardboard to be cut in half. They will do this for free for you! You will find the spackling paste in the paint section. We found that one small tub was enough to make 2 surfaces.

Okay, so now, at home, lay out some newspapers to create a working space. Lay down the hardboard pieces on the ground and start applying the spackling paste using the wall scraper in whichever patten you desire. This particular brand of spackling paste is cool because it is pink when you apply and turns white when it dries.

Once you are done applying the paste, let the board dry completely before painting. For us it took around 2 hours.

Now, paint the surface whichever colour you desire. We chose a pink and a teal colour and I love how they turned out.

Let it dry and your surfaces are ready.

To create a total of 4 surfaces from 1 piece of  48 inch hardboard cut in half, we used the backsides to paint another colour. The hardboard piece is white on one side and brown on the other. So, we used one side to use the spackling paste and the other we left white. For the second hardboard, we painted the back side black. A total of 4 different surfaces to style your food for under $20!

My goal is to post more recipes on this blog, especially Punjabi/Indian food recipes. I love Punjabi food and honestly feel it is a healthy, wholesome diet for everyone if you pay careful attention to the ingredients you purchase to make your meals. So now, with these 4 different DIY food styling boards I have the tools necessary to take beautiful pictures of the food that I make that hopefully will inspire you all to try these recipes! Can’t wait to share what I have in store for you all 🙂
